ARUK is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Wright as National Auskick Coordinator.
Peter's role will be to work with all senior clubs to establish Auskick centres throughout the UK.
Auskick is the No. 1 children's program in Australia. A key factor of this is its involvement of parents, who are encouraged to learn with and instruct their children on the game, regardless of their prior knowledge. This ensures that parents are actively involved in their child's development, both socially and in a sporting sense. Most of all, they are out there having fun with their kids.
Peter comes to the role with extensive experience, having been the Auskick Coordinator at Redcliffe Eagles Junior Football Club in Perth for 16 years. In 2009 the club was named Metropolitan Club of the Year.
"I am passionate about the sport and would love to see it played internationally at a junior level. Aussie Rules is a great game for kids in the UK because it offers different skills compared to traditional English sports. It's also a great opportunity for parents to get involved and have fun with their kids," he said.
ARUK welcomes Peter onboard and looks forward to rolling out the Auskick program in 2010 and beyond.
