Aussie Rules UK is very pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Fielder as the Assistant Coach of the Great Britain Bulldogs.
Fielder will work with new Bulldogs Head Coach, Mark Pitura, to ensure a strong team represents Great Britain at the next International Cup in Melbourne in 2011.
Fielder first became involved with Australian football in 2005, when he commenced playing with the Swindon Devils. Prior to this he represented Great Britain in Alpine Ski Racing, being crowned English champion (5 times) and British champion on 3 occasions.
In 2007 Fielder set up the Chippenham Redbacks, taking them from winning one game in 2008 to winning the ARUK South premiership in just one season. As England coach, he also led the Dragonslayers to victory at the 2008 EU Cup in Prague.
Currently a Physical Training Instructor for the Army Preparation Course at Wiltshire College, Fielder is keen to help the players achieve their potential as the game continues to grow in the UK.
He will remain as the Head Coach of England and is looking forward to working with Pitura to ensure all players have the opportunity to be selected at the highest level.
